Deputy secretary general The League of Cities of Yugoslavia, 1953-1959, secretary general, 1967-1972. Director The Institute of Public Administration, Belgrade, 1960-1963. Under secretary Government of the Socialist Republic of Serbia, 1963-1967.

Deputy mayor City of Belgrade, 1972-1974, mayor, member parliament, 1974-1982, cabinet minister in charge of foreign economic relations, 1982-1986. Ambassador Socialist Republic of Yugolslavia, Washington, since 1987. Member panel on urban crisis committee on Science and Astronautics House of Representatives, United States Congress, 1969.

President Bureau of the Contracting Parties to Barcelona Convention on the Protection of the Mediterranean, 1983-1985.
