Career
Popovich was appointed to the court in 1980, and was then elected to a full ten-year term in 1985 and again in 1995. Born in Akron, Ohio, Popovich was in the United States Air Force from 1951-1953, and thereafter received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pittsburgh in 1954, and an Bachelor of Laws from the University of Pittsburgh Law School, 1957. He was elected to the Court of Common Pleas of Allegheny County, 1973.
