Career
She is a multiple-time former Polish record holder in both 100 and 200 m backstroke. Mazurek made her international debut at the 2007 European Junior Swimming Championships, where she edged out her teammate Iwona Lefanowicz to claim the bronze in the 200 m backstroke by 0.29 of a second, finishing with a time of 2:16.36. Mazurek qualified for two swimming events at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, by breaking a Polish record and clearing a FINA A-standard entry time of 2:12.65 (200 m backstroke) from the national championships in Ostrowiec.
In the 200 m backstroke, Mazurek finished behind Ireland"s Melanie Nocher in second place on the same heat by 0.17 of a second, lowering her record to 2:12.46.
Mazurek missed the semifinals by nearly two seconds, as she placed twenty-first overall in the preliminaries.
