Aadhi Pinisetty is an Indian actor who appears in Tamil and Telugu films. He made his debut in 2006 with the Telugu film Oka `V` Chitram, and got his big break with 2009 film Eeram. Since 2006 he has appeared in more than fifteen movies.
Background
Aadhi Pinisetty was born Sai Pradeep Pinisetty on December 14, 1982, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. He is the son of Ravi Raja Pinisetty, an Indian film director who has directed 56 films, and of Radha Rani. He also has a brother, Sathya Prabhas Pinisetty, who is also a film director.
His mother tongue is Telugu but he speaks Tamil as well, since he was born and brought up in Chennai.
Education
Pinisetty studied at Don Bosco School, Chennai, and later went to Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering (SVCE) where he completed his Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science. Aadhi then applied for pilot training as he was interested in touring the world. While he was waiting to hear from them, he enrolled for Silambam classes under Pandian master where stars such as Suriya and Karthi used to come.
One day, director Samy who came to see Suriya, spotted Pinisetty. The director was planning his next project after Uyir. He came to Pinisetty's home to give the script of Mirugam. He instantly accepted the offer as he was desperate for a film offer.
Pinisetty made his lead debut in the Tamil film Mirugam (2007), which upon release received critical acclaim from critics and audiences. In 2009, he starred in the supernatural thriller Eeram, that also fetched a positive response from critics and was a sleeper hit. In 2010, he had two releases, Ayyanar and Aadu Puli, which were commercial films and were average grossers, building his commercial value well despite the negative reviews. His next film Aravaan released on March 2, 2012, to mixed reviews from critics. In 2014 he appeared as himself in Vallinam, and in 2015 in Yagavarayinum Naa Kaakka. In 2016, he played a powerful antagonist in Allu Arjun's Sarrainodu.
In 2017, he starred in the thriller Maragadha Naanayam and the romantic film Ninnu Kori. His portrayal as Arun in the latter received acclaim. His performance in Sukumar’s Rangasthalam also received critical acclaim.
In 2018 he appeared in four films: in Agnyaathavaasi as Seetharam, in Rangasthalam as Chelluboina Kumar Babu, in Neevevaro as Kalyan, and in U-Turn as Nayak. In 2019 he will appear in Burrakatha, Partner and Untitled Nagesh Kukunoor.
Aadhi Pinisetty is known today as a promising young actor who is praised for his roles in Tamil and Telugu films. He is probably best known for his roles in Ninnu Kori and Rangasthalam.
In 2016 he won the Nandi Award for Best Villain, and in 2018 he received the South Indian International Movie Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
