Abd was an Arabian writer in the 14th century, author of 3 musician treatises noticed by Kiesewetter (" Mtisik der Araber,” 1842); “The Collector of Melodies ”; ‘‘ The Aim of Melodies in the Composition of Tones and Measures’’; and “The Treasure of Melodies in the Science of Musical Cycles.”
