Aharon April was born in Vilkaviskis, Lithuania on June 6, 1932, in a family of pharmacists Isaac April and Toiba Yankelzon. Childhood and adolescence spent in Siberia due to the deportation of Jewish families in the USSR.

Aharon April was born in Vilkaviskis, Lithuania on June 6, 1932, in a family of pharmacists Isaac April and Toiba Yankelzon. Childhood and adolescence spent in Siberia due to the deportation of Jewish families in the USSR.
In 1947 Aharon April ended middle school in Yakutsk with a gold medal. In 1948 entered the Moscow Art School in Memory of 1905 (now Moscow Academic Art College memory of 1905), but after a year and a half was forced to leave. In Yakutsk, he graduated from art school and also attended a 4-year historical course in a local pedagogical institute. In 1960 April he graduated from the Surikov Academy of Fine Arts (now the Surikov Art Institute in Moscow).
From 1958 till 1972, Aharon April took part in many national and international exhibitions. His first solo exhibition "Behind the Seven Seas" took place in Moscow in 1971.
After immigration to Israel Aharon April held personal exhibitions in Israel, North America, Germany, Switzerland, France, etc. In 1986-1998 worked for different periods of time in Cite Internationale des Arts, Paris.

1993Aharon April was a member of the Artists' Union of the USSR. From 1975-1976 he was the Chairman of the Jerusalem artists and sculptors association. In 2005 was elected as an honorary member of the Russian Academy of Arts in Saint Petersburg.
Aharon April was married to Ilana Zhezmir and had a son, Itzhak.
