Mordecai Ardon
Mordekhai Ardon was born Max Bronstein in a religious Jewish family on July 13, 1896, in Tuchów, Poland.
In 1921-1925 Mordekhai Ardon studied at Bauhaus, where he was deeply affected by Paul Klee's work. In 1926 entered the Academy of Fine Arts in Munich, Germany. And was one of the students of Max Doerner.
Mordekhai Ardon participated in art exhibitions, including Venice Biennale in 1958. Apart from his artwork, he was a teacher in art schools. In 1940 Mordekhai Ardon became director of Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design. He was also an Art Advisor in the Ministry of Education and Culture. Published articles on art.
