Background
Firoze Sameer, born in January, 1950, in Colombo, Sri Lanka, was tutored in the English medium at Royal College (’61-Group) and Pembroke Academy, in Colombo-00700.
Initially a financial consultant, Sameer presently serves as company secretary to the Trend group and American group of companies, after retirement as DGM/company secretary at STC General Trading, adjunct to the ministry of Trade.
Sameer’s review on The Russia House in the Sunday Times, Sri Lanka, of 06 May, 1990 prompted British spy-guru John le Carré to comment via letter on 09 August, 1990.
His works include Genealogical Table of Sri Lankan Muslims: Family Tree Data, co-authored with Fazli Sameer, followed by Amazon/KDP’s: dOSSIEr COREA: A portfolio on crime, reviewed by former Chief Justice AC Alles, short-listed by the 1998-Gratiaen prize committee for creative writing, established by Michael Ondaatje, and Complex Mélange – A Kaleidoscope on murders to movies.
Sameer and his wife divide their time between Colombo and Australia, where their children and grand-daughter reside.
