Achievements

  • Achievements include research which clarified relationships between neural competence of presumptive ectoderms and inducing time during neural induction process. Discovered that Na/K pump activity appears in new membranes formed at the first cleavage in newt eggs, that a pertussis toxin-sensitive G protein inactivates highly-Na selective, amiloride-blockable epithelial sodium channels in apical membranes of A6 cells, and that secretin activates ion transport in the monolayer of intestinal caco-2 cells.
