Career
He was on the 1927, 1929, and 1931 Ryder Cup teams although he did not play in 1927. He lost to Leo Diegel in the 1928 PGA Championship finals. In 1929, he tied with Bobby Jones in the U.S. Open but lost by 23 strokes in the 36-hole playoff.
