Jaslow received a Bachelor of Science degree in zoology from the University of Wisconsin in 1974. Two years later he earned his Master of Science from the University of Michigan. Also in 1982, Alan was given a Doctor of Philosophy in biological sciences from the same university.
Jaslow began his career as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Chicago in 1982. Two years later he became an assistant professor at Rhodes College. Nowadays Alan is an associate professor of biology at the same college.
Jaslow is a member of the American Society of Zoologists, Society for Study Reptiles and Amphibians, Herpetologist League and American Society of Ictithyologists and Herpetologists.
On June 21, 1986 Alan Jaslow married Carolyn Renzulli. They have a child.
