He is best known for creating Monroe"s motivated sequence, a structure for persuasive speeches based on the psychology of persuasion. Monroe"s method is still used effectively today in freshman Communications classes, as well as having a whole chapter dedicated to the sequence in the class textbook. Students are expected to use Monroe"s motivated sequence heavily for their final project according to new curriculum in the Purdue Polytechnic Institute.
