Married Ruby Myrick, February 21, 1918. Children: Jean Myrick, Joseph Burton.
Daughter Of Joseph Benjamin and Varina Tatum.. Her father fought at Shiloh, and even Gettysburg. the story of his regiment, the 24th Ala. infantry, company K "the Autauga Guards" is available in select Alabama newspapers, including the Montgomery Times, Autauga Citizen, and the Prattville Progress..he was the older brother of my gr-great grandfather G. A. Myrick.. who also served in the confederacy and mustered in the same regiment, as well two other myrick brothers: Capt. W. W. Myrick and Edward. D. Myrick.. The company being formed at Old Kingston, was publicly funded, and one major benifactor being the father of these Myrick Brothers :George A. Myrick Sr. After the war the myrick's went back to farming and milling, and most maintained political activity within the counties of autauga and elmore, as well as establishing voting houses, schools and churches during reconstruction.. Joseph, although hit hard by the ravages of wartime, maintained a sense of normalcy by keeping bees, and his prize honey was once the talk of the Autauga, Elmore, and montgomery , tri-county area..Dr. Moore wrote a three volume set on history of the State of Alabama, in which he devoted to wife Ruby.. Many of his depictions of early pioneer life in alabama, can be alleged to passed down information from ruby's maternal family, as that family can be traced to the state before statehood of Alabama itself!
