Achievements

He competed for the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics in the 1972 Summer Olympics held in Munich, Germany in the 4 x 100 metre relay where he won the silver medal with his team mates Vladimir Lovetskiy, Juris Silovs and Valeriy Borzov. Kornelyuk also won a 50 m silver medal at the 1972 European Indoor Championships behind his teammate Borzov. In 1972 Kornelyuk was awarded the Medal Foreign Labour Heroism.
Membership
Kornelyuk began athletics in 1963 and became a member of the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics National Team in 1970.
