LEBEDEV, Aleksandr was born in 1881.
1901 graduate Moscow University. 1904 graduate Petrovsko-Razumovskiy Agric Academy.
1905 went to Germany, where he worked first at Professor Bredic’s physiochemical laboratory in Heidelberg, then at East. Buchner’s laboratory in Berlin. 1909 developed spirit fermentation model in which the major role is played by the trioses glycerine aldehyde and dioxyacetone. Much later the phosphoric esters of these substances were recognized as essential intermediate products of the anaerobic decomposition of hydrocarbons.
1911 worked at Pasteur Institute and G. Bertrand’s laboratory in Paris. In same year devised method of obtaining zymase ferment from dry yeast which superceded Buchner’s method. Also observed that yeast juice becomes inactive in the process of dialysis but that it can be reactivated by the admixture of a small quantity of boiled juice.
Obtained osazones of the intermediate products of fermentation, which he identified at hexosephosphortc esters. 1912-1914 associate professor, from 1914, after defending master’s thesis, professor, Don Polytech Institute. From 1921 professor, Chair of Agrochemistry, Moscow University.
From 1930 also head, Biochemical Laboratory, Centr Food Research Institute. 1935 established a biochemical laboratory at All-Union Institute of Experimental Medical Wrote over 80.
Religion discourages exploration of science and universe by suppressing curiosity, and denies its followers a broader perspective.
Marxism–Leninism as the only truth could not, by its very nature, become outdated.
