Joined the Red Army and the Bolshevik Party, 1918. Took part in the Civil War. Professor at the Academy of the General Staff, 1940.
Commander of several armies during World War II. After the war, taught at the Frunze Academy and the Academy of the General Staff. Carried out scientific research work for the General Staff, 1959-1963.
