Vekman, Aleksandr was born on July 31, 1884 in Kronstadt.

Career

Took part in World War I as a naval officer. Joined the Red Navy, 1919. Took part in the Civil War as a naval artillery officer.

In the 1920s, commanded the Red Navy in the Black, Caspian and Baltic seas. Chairman of the cttee. for commissioning new navy ships from 1927. Retired 1947.

The emphasis on peaceful coexistence doesn’t mean that the Soviet Union accepted a static world with clear lines. Socialism is inevitable and the "correlations of forces" were moving towards socialism.
