In Odessa he graduated from high school (1956), machine-tool technical school (1959).
Aleksandr Petrovich worked as a technician, an engineer-technologist at the factory of forging presses (Dnepropetrovsk, until October 1961). The founder and head of the publishing house "Rodnaya Rech" (since 1992), which publishes study guides for secondary schools and universities. He was published since 1966 in such magazines as ''Podyom", "The Soviet Screen", "The Art of Cinema". Since April 2004 he published essays on Russian literary classics in the newspaper "Voronezh Courier".
