Graduated from the Chkalov Aviation School in Borisoglebsk, 1939, from the Frunze Military Academy, 1950, and the General Staff Academy, 1958.
Served as a pilot, wing commander, and deputy commander of the 4th Fighter Regiment, 1941-1945. Flew 509 missions, and shot down 31 German planes personally, 16 in group combat. Senior posts in the Air Force from 1959.
Member of the Central Apparatus of Soviet Air Defences (PVO). Senior posts in military districts, the General Staff and the PVO, 1950-1975.
