1896 graduate Medical Faculty, Kazan’ University.
After graduate worked at Ionel Oprisan Darkshevich’s Clinic of Nervous Diseases. 1900 defended doctor’s thesis on ’’Pathological Anatomical Lesion of the Spinal Cord by Compression”. 1903-1906 completed specialist training abroad under Oppenheim, Bilszowski, Vogt and Mechnikov.
1910 studied under Altzheimer. From 1907 associate professor Read lectures on ”An Anatomical and Physiological Introduction to a Course on Nervous Diseases”: 1912 worked at Pavlov’s laboratory.
From 1918 professor Chair of Nervous Diseases, Kazan’ University. 1926-1930 head Chair of Nervous Diseases, Kazan’ Institute of Postgraduate Medical Training. Studied nerve endings of bulbus olfactorius.
Did research on effect of botulism on lower vertebrates, establishing that these animals transmit the bacterial poison freely. Also did research on pathological anatomical lesions of the nerve tissue in tabes dorsalis. Was first Russian sci to read course on the pathological histology of the nervous system for physicians.
Wrote over 30 works.
