Until 1918 worked on the railroad. 1918 volunteered for Red Army. Political work in Civil War.
Then comissar, cavalry regt, then brigade. 1938 commander, 2nd Mechanized Brigade, Maritime Forces Group in Far East. Took part in Lake Khasan counter-offensive.
1938-1941 served with unit staffs and General Staff. 1941-1942 chief, Intelligence Board, General Staff. General Staff píen for mustering Anderson’s Polish Army in Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics.
1943-1945 commander, 6th, then 3rd Guards Tank Corps. 1943 took part in liberation of Kiev. 1944 in Polish campaign.
1945 in East Pomeranian operation. After World War 2various commands and lecturing work at Armored Forces Academy and General Staff Academy.
