Studied at Literature Faculty, Kiev Institute of Public Education.
At age 14 or 15 lost his speech and hearing. 1925 first work printed. Member, “Molodnyak” lit associate and All-Ukraine Association of Proletarian Writers.
Influenced by Ukraine Futurists. His works are marked by zest for life and rich lyricism. Welcomed romantic aspects of the building of socialism but criticized Soviet encroachment of national rights.
December 1934 accused as “White Guard terrorist” and sentenced to death by Military Collegium, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics Supreme Court.
