Aleksey Ilyich Trunov was born on August 2, 1920, in Voronezh, Russian Federation. He was a brother of Mikhail Ilyich Trunov.
Aleksey Ilyich graduated from the Voronezh State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering with a degree in civil engineering (1948).
Aleksey Ilyich worked in the Voronezh "Oblproekt" (1948-1961). He was an architect, head of the workshop of the "Voronezhgrazhdanproekt" Institute (1961-1983). A prize-winner of a number of urban architecture competitions.
Aleksey Ilyich is the author of projects of many public and residential buildings, including the dental faculty of the Voronezh State Medical University, the hotel on Taranchenko Street (together with Yu.V. Lvov), the Don Hotel, the Brno Hotel (in cooperation with Yu.V. Lvov), 12-story residential buildings with a children's art school, a residential building with an art library on Kutsygina Street, as well as an of projects of restoration and reconstruction of the main building of the Voronezh State Agricultural University (in cooperation with I.N. Makovetsky).
