He worked as a transcriber (1882-1892), clerk (1892-1903) in the printing house of VI. Isayeva. Secretary of the Editorial Board (1903-1907), editor (1907-1915), proofreader (1915-1917) of the newspaper Voronezh Telegraph. He was also a councillor of the Voronezh City Council (1910-1913).
Author of many articles, reviews and notes about the contemporary cultural life of Voronezh, books published here, obituaries. The clerk of the provincial food committee, the provincial council of the national economy, the provincial municipality administration, the plant named after the Comintern.
After the arrest on the so-called case of regional ethnographers in 1930, he was sentenced to 10 years of forced labor camps. He served time in the Kirov region. Released in September 1937.
