Alexander before his accounting in a cosmonautics order was a cadet of the Kharkov Institute of Internal Affairs from the 25 of August 1966 till June 1970 and then was the pilot instructor of the 810 training aviation regiment of Ivan Kozhedub National Air Force University from June 1970 till August 1976.
Made three flights: September 17 - November 21, 1985 as a cosmonaut researcher of the Soyuz T-14 spacecraft and the Salyut-7 OS together with V. Savinykh and V. Vasyutin.
