Alexander Fedorovich Lepukaln worked in surgical clinic the name N.N.Burdenko at Voronezh State University (1921-1922). The household doctor, then the head of a hospital in Valuysk district (1922-1927). Since 1927, Ph.D. candidate, the assistant of the surgical clinic at the First Pavlov State Medical University of Saint Petersburg (since 1930). The assistant (1932-1942), the associate professor of Surgery Department of the First Moscow State Medical University. The head of Surgery Department in Latvia State University (since 1946). At the same time the chief surgeon (1949-1959) and the chief neurosurgeon (since 1959) in Ministry of Health of Latvia SSR.
