Alexander Vasiyevich Grishin was born into a family of civil servants.
Had graduated from Spanish sub faculty of Romano-Germanic philology faculty in Voronezh State University in 1974, and also from directing faculty of Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography in 1983. Grishin’s thesis in Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography is a movie named "Night" (based on Andrei Platonov’s "Third Son").
Grishin was actively engaged in amateur art performances during his time at Voronezh State University, he had also been a member of the city cinema club. Moreover, he is the director for "One more turn", "The unscheduled train" movies of 1986 as well as for "Puppy" movie released in 1988 (script by Yuri Shchekochikhin, live action shooting was done in Voronezh).
