Alexandra Gippius

Background

Alexandra Gippius (nee Rennenkampf) was born in Russian Federation.

Career

Alexandra's literary debut was the book of short stories Neptune (Saint Petersburg., 1862). In the late 70's-early 80s, Alexandra Gippius published works in the magazine Soulful word, which made up the collection City and village (Saint Petersburg, 1879) and Three stories for children (Saint Petersburg, 1885). Of the 8 works of the first collection, which included a novel for children, Ida, critics highlighted the "entertaining story" cat Vaska, written using the motifs of the fairy tale by Sh. Perrault "Puss in boots".
