Alexey Ivanovich was in charge of a bookstore of N.V. Gardenin. Since 1864 he was an assistant at the Voronezh Public Library. He became a member of the Voronezh Governorate Statistical Committee in 1864.
Alexey Ivanovich wrote comedy "Caretaker" (published in the 7th issue of Pantheon magazine) and drama "Enough Is As Good As a Feast". His comedy "Company" wasn’t published. He was also the author of article "Essays on Beliefs, Rites, Signs and Fortune-Telling in the Voronezh Governorate (published in the Voronezh Literary Collection in 1861). Alexey Ivanovich prepared for publication a series of documents "Historic Materials of the Voronezh Governorate" which were published in the 42nd, 43rd, 46th, 50th issues and a separate edition of Voronezh Governorate Gazette in 1864.
