Ali Akbar Salehi is an Iranian academic and the current Minister of Foreign Affairs, also he was Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran from 16 July 2009 to 13 December 2010. As Head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran the when Iran was facing increased scrutiny in light of International Atomic Energy Agency findings, Salehi was designated for financial sanctions and travel restrictions by the European Union and the United Kingdom.
