Allan Jay Lundeen

Background

Lundeen was born on August 24, 1932 in New York City, New York, United States; the son of Gerhard E. Lundeen and Winfired B. (Baker) Lundeen.

Education

Lundeen received a Bachelor of Science degree from Southwestern College in 1954. Three years later he earned his Ph.D. from Rice University.

Career

Lundeen began his career as a research chemist at Conoco Inc. in 1957. Three years later he took the position of a senior research chemist at the same company. Then in 1961, Allan was appointed a research group leader and supervising research chemist in 1969 at Conoco Inc. Also he served as a director of private research at that company from 1977 to 1980. In 1980, Lundeen became a director of polyethylene research at Conoco Inc. In 1987 he became a senior research fellow at Occidental Petroleum Corporation.

Lundeen is a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, American Chemical Society, New York Academy of Science and Society of Plastics Engineers.

Connections

On August 24, 1954 Allan Lundeen married Janet Ann Bigler. They have four children. On September 15, 1987 he married Barbara Sue Roundsville.
