(The book is designed for undergraduate students in Electr...)
The book is designed for undergraduate students in Electrical Engineering and Technology programs. It provides a clear explanation of the power semiconductor devices, power converters, and applications in industry and home appliances. This book strives to fulfill the need of a fundamental treatment that allows students to understand the fundamental principles, concepts and all aspects of techniques, methods, circuits classification and functions through neatly drawn diagrams and wave-forms. This book is a well-balanced text between theory and practice begins with a review of some basic electrical parameters applicable in power electronics and it provides an in-depth analysis of power semiconductor devices, such as thyristor, triac, IGBT, GTO, ETO, different types of converters and their applications in control of AC and DC motors, stepper motors, and servomotors. As a final point, the book presents modern developments in the field of motor and non-motor control applications including Fuzzy logic control.
