She is best known for her television and theatre work. Boxer is best known for her performances in The Last Days of Judas Iscariot at the Almeida Theatre, Cling to Maine Like Ivy at the Birmingham Repertory Theatre, and The Painter at the Arcola Theatre. Her credits include Sense and Sensibility, The Cleopatras, The Gentle Touch, Mission Marple, Between The Lincolnshire, Trial & Retribution, and Casualty.
Boxer played Amanda Trippley in both series of the British Broadcasting Corporation sitcom Chalk.
She also had a role as Mistress Ryan in Saving Private Ryan, and played the mother of Matt Smith"s character in the 2009 short film Together.
