Due to harassment from the communist regime, the family fled first to Eleskirt, and then to Erzurum in Turkey. After 10 years they migrated from there to Damascus. In 1952 Adil married Sheikh Nazim and they had five children.
The eldest, Naziha, married Sheikh Hisham Kabbani.
She died in November 2004 in Lefke, Northern Cyprus.
