Her research is on the role of media in the lives of children and their families. Studies of the impact and implementation of United States children"s media policy include evaluations of the Federal Communication Commission processing guideline known as the Three-Hour Rule and the Telecommunication Acting of 1996 mandating the provision of the V-Chip and the television ratings system. Amy Jordan received her Master of Arts (1986) and Doctor of Philosophy. (1990) from the Annenberg School for Communication, and graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Muhlenberg College in 1983 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies.
