From 1917 ed, newspaper Svobodnaya shkola. 1918 served as a medical orderly with a Red Guard unit 1919 ed, Tula newspaper Proletarskoye stroitel’stvo.
1920-1924 held dipl post in Turkey. 1924-1927 head, Rural Corresp Department, Krest’yanskaya gazeta: 1924 worked with various amateur acting groups which performed his plays. Subsequently became full-time writer
