Following the suspension, Conboy chose to pull out of school and turned pro by signing with Montreal"s American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate, the Hamilton Bulldogs.
Career
Conboy played junior hockey with the Wichita Falls Wildcats of the North American Hockey League. On September 19, 2012 Conboy signed as a free agent with the Trenton Titans of the ECHL. After only 10 games and accruing 110 penalty minutes his contract was terminated by the team November 12, 2013 after being suspended for his third time in the season. He then played out the season with the Saint Charles Chill and the Idaho Steelheads of the ECHL. On July 18, 2014, Conboy opted to remain in the ECHL, signing a one-year deal with the Elmira Jackals.
