Graduated from College of New Jersey (now Princeton), 1772.

Career

Made missionary visit to Virginia. Took part in burning cargo of tea in Greenwich, New Jersey, 1774. Commissioned by Provincial Congress of New Jersey as chaplain of Colonel Philip Van Cortland’s batallion, 1776.

In charge of Presbyterian chs. in Woodbury and Blackwood, New Jersey, 1786-1797. Delegate General Assembly of Presbyterian Church, 1789, 94. Trustee College of New Jersey, 1788, 91, professor mathematics and astronomy, 1804-1808.

In charge of academic Bordentown, New Jersey, 1808-1810. Schoolmaster United States Naval Service, Washington, District of Columbia, 1812-1823.
