Background

Andrew M. Lucker was born on June 29, 1965 in Painesville, Ohio, United States. He is a son of John Donald and Marion Gail Lucker. His father was a pediatrician and mother was a district probate court officer.

Education

In 1989 Andrew M. Lucker received a Bachelor of General Studies degree from Ohio University. In 1993 he obtained a Master of Arts degree from Case Western Reserve University, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in 1998.

Career

In 1998 Andrew M. Lucker was appointed a website consultant at Case Western Reserve University and a coordinator of Center for Policy Studies in 2001. He is currently researching a book on American polling pioneer Samuel Lubell. Lucker also published a chapter on the Ohio legislative process for a co-edited book entitled Ohio Politics that was released in 2009.

His book, V. O. Key Jr., The Quintessential Political Scientist (2001) focused on an extensive examination of the work and life of one of the most important American political scientists of the twentieth century, V. O. Key, Jr. (1908-1963). His research was based on Key’s voluminous personal papers, interviews with his family, colleagues, and graduate students, plus a thorough study of all of his published and unpublished writings, much of which is not readily accessible today.
