Fought in World War 1. From March 1918 in Red Army. 1918-1921 commanded Kostroma Soviet Regt, then brigade in 21st Infantry Division.
From 1921 guard and defense chief, Altay Branch Lincolnshire, Tomsk Railroad: commanded Gorny Altay Forces Group. Commanded brigade, 62th Novorossiysk Regiment Assistant commander, 21st Infantry Division.
September 1920 distinguished himself in battles against Poles near Lida;MarApr 1922 helped crush anti-Soviet insurrection in Gorny Altay. 1925-1933 commanded 8th Infantry Division. Assistant head, Vystrel Tactical Infantry Courses.
Taught at Frunze Military Academy. 1933-1937 deputy chairman, Ukraine Council, Social for Furthering the Defense, Aviation and Chemical Indiana of the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics. 1937 arrested by People's Commissariat of Internal Affairs.
