From 1963 to 1965 Ann studied at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, United States. From 1965 to 1967 she was a student of the Barnard College in New York City, United States, earning a Bachelor of Arts. In 1982 she graduated from The General Theological Seminary in New York City, United States, receiving the Master of Divinity. She then studied at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut, United States, earning the degree of Doctor of Philosophy in 1987. In 1992 she received the degree of Master of Science in Counseling at the California State University in Hayward, California, United States.
Ann was a German teacher in Valhalla High School in New York, United States from 1967 to 1969. For five years she was a textbook editor in Harcourt Brace Jovanovich Incorporated in New York City, United States. She worked there until 1979. From 1983 to 1986 she worked as a counselor of the Episcopal Social Service, Inc. in Bridgeport, Connecticut, United States.
From 1983 to 1986 Ann was also a teaching fellow at Yale University, Yale Divinity School in New Haven, Connecticut, United States. In 1986 she became Assistant Professor of Theology and Ethics at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific (in the Graduate Theological Union), Berkeley, California, United States. Since 1994 she has worked as an Author, editor, translator of Jungian publications.

Since 2015 she has edited, annotated, and translated previously unpublished works by first-generation followers of C. G. Jung.
