Career
At the age of 14, Anna McVann in her first national championships broke a national age record for the 200-metre freestyle event. This effort saw her automatically selected for the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, where she was a finalist in all her events: 200-, 400-, and 800-metre freestyle and 4×100-metre freestyle relay. In 2008 McVann was inducted into the SwimmingSA Hall of Fame.
