Trustee or director in Aged and Infirm Clergy Fund, American Social Science Association, Liverpool and London and Globe Insurance Company, Second National Bank, etc.

First president Reform Club. For 2 terms vice-commander New York Yacht Club 1863, went by steamer to California, 1863, and returned overland. Made a number of cruises in his yachts Clytie, Mermaid and Sea Fox.
