Anton Edvard Odyniets was born in village Geistuny, Oshmiany Region.
He graduated from Vilnius University and got a Master’s degree of Law.
In 1825 – 1826 Odyniets published a two-volume edition “Poetic works” in Vilnius. In 1829 – 1837 he travelled in Western Europe, lived in Dresden. In 1837 he came back to Geistuny. Since 1838 Odyniets lived in Vilnius. In 1841 – 1859 he was an editor of the “Vilnius Herald” newspaper. Since 1866 Odyniets lived in Warsaw, worked for different newspapers and magazines. In 1884 together with Domeiko he visited Belarus, Kroshin. Perhaps he met with P. Bagrim there.
Odyniets took part in publication of the “Album” in honor of Alexander II (Vilnius, 1858)
In Vilnius he was friends with A. Mickevich, Ya. Tchetchot, T. Zan, I.Dameiko, I. Khodzko. In 1821 Odyniets became a member of the Filaret Association, for which he wrote “Song of the Filarets” ("Song" by F. Bogushevich is a rework of it). He was imprisoned for Association’s affair in November 1823 – February 1824.
