Anton Strohmayer

Background

His father was Alois Strohmayer, an Austrian composer. He studied the guitar with his father Alois Strohmayer (1822-1890).

Career

As a boy, he already had similar ability to brothers Johann and Josef Schrammel, two renowned Austrian guitarists who were taken in by his father to play the guitars in restaurants across the city. The first time he had played was at the "Green Huntsman" played in the Prater. His honorary grave is located on the Dornbacher cemetery in Vienna.
