Choudhury, Anwaruddin was born on October 25, 1958 in Shillong, Meghalaya, India. Son of Alauddin and Shaukatunnessa (Mazumder) Choudhury.

Deputy secretary Cooperation Department, Guwahati, 1996—1998, Environmental and Forest Department, 1998—2000, joint secretary Guwahati, 2002—2004. Director tea Assam, 2000—2003. Deputy commissioner Baksa, since 2004.
