He joined Royal Dutch/Shell in 1951 and remained there until his retirement in 1989. During his tenure as head of Shell"s Strategic Planning Group, the department made important advancements to the ideas of portfolio analysis (ie Directional Policy Matrix) and scenario planning. Since he retired, Mr. de Geus has been a visiting fellow of London Business School and has worked with Massachusetts Institute of Technology"s Center for Organizational Learning.
With a wealth of experience gained as a top level corporate strategist, Mr. de Geus has earned a reputation as an excellent speaker with great insight into management planning and organizational learning.
