Achievements

  • Achievements include discovery of new mineral, the properties of which explain many of the mysteries of the D' layer (lowermost 200 km of the Earth's mantle). Obtained accurate mineral physics data that enabled the interpretation of seismic tomography in terms of temperature variations within the Earth. Detailed mineral physics research into Earth-forming systems, e.g.

    Al2O3-SiO2, MgO-CaO-SiO2.
