Background

Bird, Arthur was born on July 23, 1856 in at Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States. Son of Horace and Elizabeth (Homer) Bird.

Education

Graduate Belmont High School. Studied music, Berlin, under Haupt, Loeschhorn and Urban.

Career

Studied under Liszt; conducted at Milwaukee Musical Festival, 1886. Now in Berlin. Composer piano, harmonium, organ works, symphony, carnival, three suites for orchestra, Ballet Bühezahl, opera Daphne. Won Paderewski prize for chamber music, decimet for wind instruments, 1902.
