He studied architecture at the State University (graduated in 1897).
Following graduation in 1897, he secured a position as draftsman in the New York office of George B. Post. While employed there the young man gained training and experience, and was encouraged to open his own office in the city, later practiced in association with Messrs Sharpe and Bready. Among his best known works was the Candler Building in Times Square, New York, Brittania Apartments on Cathedral Parkway, office building at #50 Broadway, the Westchester Golf Club, and many residences and apartments in New York and in his native state.
Mr. Willauer is survived by a son, Arthur Osborne Willauer, who followed his father's profession, and in 1840 became a member of the West Texas Chapter, A.I.A.
Mr. Willauer secured a position as draftsman in the New York office of George B. Post.
Mr. Willauer practiced in association with Messrs Sharpe and Bready.
